HCC earliest mention was taken from the Cricket quarterly 1763 page 85, which states that a match was arranged for Thursday 29th July 1762 on Hailsham Common between Hailsham, Hurstmonceux and Wartling versus Arlington, Chalvington Ripe and Ringmer. The match would commence at noon for half a guinea a man.
The following comes from the 1st issue of the James Lilywhite annual 1872 and lists Hailsham for the year 1871 as having played 12 matches winning 6 and losing 6. Their colours were blue and white the nearest railway station was Hailsham 250yds away. The Secretary was A. Burtenshaw, and the club had 44 members.
Hailsham Cricket Club was re established in June 1884 after a lapse of a few years. In 1884 there were two minute books, one for rules, fixtures committee meetings, and the other for general meetings held twice a year.

The committee were to purchase a large roller from Mr. Hastings
for as little as possible, no record of the cost was mentioned,
but rumours are from old players that it cost £3/-/- and was 2nd
hand even then and it came from Mayfield. The same roller is the
one still used in wicket preparation today 122 years on. A new
pavilion was also proposed at this meeting.

Hailsham officially launches a ladies hardball cricket team for the 2020 season.
COVID 19 sends the country into lockdown and the league season cancelled. We end up playing friendlies in July & September and the league organised a cup competition during August.
